Need some spring break plans or just an excuse to get out and do something? (After all, spring has officially sprung!)

We have the perfect outing for you! Get outside, soak up the sunshine and spend a day frolicking in The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. Whether you make it a family day out, a girl’s day with your besties or a fun date for you and your SO to enjoy, you will not be disappointed. Explore over 50 acres of  breathtaking ranunculus bulb flowers, greenhouses packed full of cymbidium orchids and a 300×170 foot replica of the American Flag made up of bright red, white and blue petunias.

There are a multitude of other attractions at the Flower Fields catering to those of all ages. Want to feel like a kid again? Head over to  Santa’s Playground, an area of the ranch made up of magical playhouses and vibrantly colored, oversized mushrooms. Take the kids for a wagon ride on an antique tractor or get lost with your girls in the luscious sweet pea blossom maze. Brush up on your gardening skills and check out the Master Gardeners of San Diego as they showcase organic gardening with edible and ornamental plants. Take a walk with your honey through a 1,500 square foot greenhouse full of Ecke poinsettias and learn more about the history behind the famous plant. Don’t forget to stop by The University of California Cooperative Extension of San Diego County and see over 20 practices that help farmers preserve our water resources in their Water Wise Farming showcase.

If you are feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin once you arrive at The Flower Fields, not to worry! There are over 180 dedicated volunteers leading tours of the Flower Fields for people of all ages. According to Wikipedia, in 2015 it was anticipated that over 7,000 school children would come to the fields on educational trips. Visiting The Flower Fields is a popular outing, to say the least!

In addition to the stunning flower attractions, there are some non-flower related things to do as well. Get your groove on with live music ranging in genres from bluegrass to rock ‘n’ roll, visit a bonsai show and sale or enhance your creative mind at an array of arts and crafts shows. At The Flower Fields there is something for everyone! If you’ve yet to visit The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, trust us, you don’t want to miss out on this breathtaking experience. It is truly unlike anything you have ever seen.

The fields are open once a year during spring, starting on March 1 and continuing through May 10.

General admission tickets for The Flower Fields are $14 for adults, $13 for seniors and $7 for children from the ages of 3-10. Group tours (20 or more) range in price from anywhere to $13-$23.
