Valentine’s Day can be celebrated with your beau, good friends, or even family — it’s not written in stone that you have to celebrate with a sweetheart. It’s a day to celebrate the love you’re so fortunate to have in your world. Here in Vista, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with whoever you choose. So if your heart is set on venturing out, consider some of these hot spots to celebrate the day!
Go to the Theater!
Vista Broadway Theater is putting on a special production of the classic, “Tell Me On a Sunday.” Fans of Andrew Lloyd Weber musicals will truly enjoy this special play where an ordinary British hat-maker journeys to America in search of love. As she travels from New York City to Los Angeles and back to Manhattan again, she experiences some romantic misadventures and comes to realize that the path to love is never as simple as it seems. Directed by James Vasquez, the production will star Vista’s own Bets Malone who is the recent winner of the San Diego Critics Choice award for BEST ACTRESS for her performance in “Next to Normal.” This production will play for a limited time only from February 6th thru the 28th, with one showing to happen on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. The Vista Broadway Theater is located at 340 East Broadway Vista, California 92084. For more info on tickets and showtimes visit their website here.
Mingle Your Biz at the Valentine’s Business Mixer

On Wednesday, February 10th, the Vista Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Valentine’s Business Mixer at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum. There will be food, prizes and an opportunity to meet and connect with other businesses in the local community. Attendees are encouraged to dress in V-day colors (pink and red) for this festive event. The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum is located at 2040 N Santa Fe Ave in Vista (map). Cost to attend is $5.00 for members and $20.00 for 2016 prospective members. For more information contact the Vista Chamber or Commerce.
Indulge in a Sweet Treat at Narvalo Ice Cream and Gelato
While it may still be winter, ice cream is good any time of the year! Especially from Narvalo. This adorable little ice cream parlor fits so perfectly with our local-artsy-Vista-vibe. Narvalo is family owned and the shop presents a whimsically fun arctic seascape decor. They serve ice cream, gelato, sorbetto, and other Italian frozen sweet treats. What makes them really stand out, though, is the fun variety of flavors they offer — think Gianduia (chocolate and hazelnut), to dulce de leche, birthday cake, and cinnamon roll. For the purists, they offer your classic vanilla and chocolate too. They even have sugar free ice cream, and dairy free sorbet for those with sensitivities. Make Narvalo a Valentine’s Day stop on your list to celebrate that day! They’re located at 2205 S Melrose Drive, Ste. 105, Vista, CA 92081.
